This is from a 2004 release on Defected, sometime home to Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, Tiefschwarz, Spen, and a whole host of who’s who. They also seem to have something to do (maybe bought back catalog rights?) with seminal labels Junior Boys Own, Blackwiz, Strictly Rhythm, 4th Floor, among others. will be interesting to see what they can do with that star power.

any ways, French producer Martin Solveig teams up with the amazing Lee Fields, who i came upon due to the mighty Daptone gang. First time i saw him was at the Apollo with Sharon Jones, and it was “transplendid” to quote Shelley Duvall. off a 12″ from 2004, here is a tuff, and mixable funk tune, I’m a Good Man.

BLACK DEVIL DISCO CLUB

Possibly the best Italo Disco ever, this little known (until its re-release a few years ago) disco gem from Italy France, still sounds very fresh. here are two classics, one from their summer ’08 release, Eight Oh Eight, and a classic from their 1978 release Disco Club, Follow Me.

Many people doubted this was vintage at all due to its rarity, as well as its futuristic sounds. enjoy.
